In short....
Wii online has a grand total of 1 game. Mario Strikers football and thats your lot.
The only advantage to going online with the Wii is perhaps web browsing on your HDTV which you can use a PC for and Virtual Console which charges extortionate prices for old games you can also get on PC and play on your HDTV. Granted the pad is more suited but hey, you can change key mappings in emulators in the blink of an eye!!
N64 is about the best thing about it.
Get a 360 mate! If the rumours are true and Halo 3 has 4 way co-op online then theres much goodness to be had!!
Flatout2 Ultimate Carnage is soon to come out and for those that loved the PC version, this one is spunkworthy with a possible 12 player race!! Its going to be at least 8 players online.
Crackdown is pure awesomeness!
Call of Duty 3
Tiger Woods 07
Viva Pinata
Gears of War
Many more I cant remember right now too.
Live is fine for the price IMO. You get good speeds when playing online and I only notice stutter in voice chat and lag in games when one person playing is downloading torrents and things. £40 for the year really isnt that expensive when you break it down. £3.30 a month? 11p a day? Doesnt sound so bad afterall eh?
You also get a month free when you first sign up to test it out with and games come with 48 hour trials quite often too. I just whack my credit card details in there and do it all online.
The Wii is good but you will need to buy the HD lead seperately which is another £20 or so and it still only does 480i. All the HD lead does it clean it up a little bit. As for games, I currently have Wii Sports, Wii Play, Rayman Raving Rabbids, Zelda, Warioware Smooth Moves, Tony Hawk Downhill Jam and Elebits. All are good but Warioware is the one to have, its just superb!!!
Elebits is very good and novel but too easy and too short and the other games feel more like tech demos. Tony Hawk I just cant get on with at all.
There really isnt enough of a selection of good games to warrent buying one at the moment.
Get a 360 and come play some games with us lot!!! I use my 360 for keeping in touch with people a lot too! Its like free telephone calls around the globe!!
For the people who are still alive.
