No, I have no idea. Doesn't seem to have any markings that I can see.

That acts just like Windows 95 on a Gateway PC!

Lol, yup I feel for ya ivw. The majority OS on this Gateway computer has been W95 SE until I stupidly decided to upgrade to W98 in order to use IE6b (now that really is a bad excuse).

I also thought it might be a tad more reliable as W95 still had/has some teething problems. Then I had to upgrade from W98 to WinME because none of my Windows emulators and some programs were working, and this is easily just as bad as W95 and no mistake about it.

Personally I have some hopes for XP, and after reading this XP Secrets apart from the registration requirement upon reinstallation (in theory no more one copy for the whole house, in theory my cracker friends ), the move up to the much more stable 32 bit core really should stop us seeing as much of our friend Mr. BSOD.

I hope that thing about running in W95/W98 mode is true though

No Windows XP for me. You'll have to club me over the head to rip the copy of Windows 98 SE out of my hands. (hey, M$ might do that!)

I'll stick with win2k, so far I haven't found anything that it doesn't run. As long as it runs what I use I don't care about the rest of the software that's out there.
