Anybody recognise any of the names here?

Postby Silverhaze on Wed Aug 01, 2001 1:21 pm

I thought I'd search a bit for some old emuxers and found this place with 2 names I recognise.
http://www.ntsc-uk.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/000053.html

Seems to be the same person too which I would never have guessed back in the old days.

Yeah, which made me wonder if that was still the case when we were all at emux.

All these alias names are confusing.

I thought he was posting right there at the end at Emux, before the boards went down.

Not too sure, though. I wasn't paying much attention because I really wasn't expecting for the boards to go down so soon after Damian and I (and someone else??) were just talking about 'what if Emux went down?'

Yeah, I remember the title of the post was something like (probably was) Just in case EMUX goes the way of the Titanic..

And in the post I said thanks to xxxxxx for the idea, gave the address ( http://pub16.ezboard.com/bthepcbarcadeboard ) and said that I had only set up one forum so far (I had never even heard of Ezboard 30 minutes before this).

Eric (Cartman, snigger.hmm more like the opposite mass wise ) was the first member and I'm not sure who was the second because Ezadverts doesn't tell.

Hey Damian!! Where did you find my old cave painting sig gif?

That black squid guy must only have been posting in the console forum cos I dont remember him. I only ever posted in the arcade forum and rarely read anything in consoles. I just wasnt interested back then.

I thought Nukey Shay was Brundlefly

plus that DJ Kix post was edited, which is something Nukey had a fetish for

hmmmm
I always thought there were only really five or six people on emux....

black squid DID make a comeback, he's an Xbox fanboy, so he probably shot himself already. He was saying he was sick of fanboyism flaming, though, so he's probably at IGN boards or some other suspicious boards

actually, I think a few are on other forums, but changed their names/email
or I just never remember the emails correctly

Lol, or maybe he has "quit the scene" which seems to be quite fashionable these days. I got that cave painting from the old, old board.

Ello,

There is no way to definitly prove that I'm not Nukey Shay, but I'll say now that I'm not :P

I'm from the UK, as Silverhaze can almost certainly verify, & Nukey is as American as apple pie, etc...

Nukey used the alias Brundlefly after someone attempted to steal his crown of most posts in a short time, but I think he went back to Nukey after a while.

I used the alias Brundlefly on the boards at NTSC UK because half of the IDs on that board (including mine) had been deleted for reasons unknown. I think I made a total of 3 posts under the name Brundlefly, before changing back to DJ Kix for the new boards.

In short, DJ Kix is not affiliated or associated with Nukey Shay (I have a loooong way to go before I could be ranked that high Image ) & I'm sorry for any confusion caused.

That is all

Thanks for the link DJ.

Ok, I read through BlackSquid's posts and saw that he mentioned the Emux forum software BigTalker which I had forgotten about and has asked a few people if they could remember but they had forgotten too.

So, I have since downloaded and installed Bigtalker which sure does bring back memories (jeeze, this was 6 months ago). I have not yet bothered fiddling with the colours as I am not entirely sure what they are. I remember the background was black, and the columns were darkish red with scanlines maybe? If anyone could help me with this I would be grateful as I can not find any of their old HTML files that they sometimes included with the emulators (might have been the old green design as well).

Also, it would help "authenticate" the look further if I could use the same logo at the top or even a different one it that can't be found.

Here is the URL if anyone wants a peek, I have crudely made two forums if anyone can remember the names and even better the descriptions let me in on that too; probably pointless, but I wouldn't mind it all the same.

The PCB Emux Nostalgia Board.

No bud. I don't think I told you where I was from. Just that I was from the UK & a former raver.

Just so you know, I used to live in Kent but moved to Durham.

Hmm well somebody used to come from there. Cant remember who it was now, not that it matters.

I got into the rave scene rather late as I was 16 in 1994 when I went to my first one. Had been listening to the music for years before that though.

When I go out now it feels like the places are always full of kids. Hard to think that I looked like that to the older people when I used to go out all the time.

Still have the occasional mad one but you have to choose the places carefully. The End and CAmden Palace are often a good bet.

I used to have this, as I accidentally saved it as an IE background. Later I accidentally saved over it. I am currently trying to find a PC that it remains on, but I have to be careful as there may be one or two machines that I put that ganja smokin dog onto. Not just centred either, I tiled it right the way across the screen (This was at work btw).

I'll do my best...

Ok, I put the logo in and changed the colours round a bit, still looks pretty bad as there are meant to be bars..but probably better. If anyone has a better hex value/RGB for the title background give me your ideas as that is clearly not the right combo.

That second link you gave was the old design which I must have missed by a few months but saw it anyway as it was packaged with some of their emus.
