URGENT QUESTION TO UK MEMBERS!

Postby Silverhaze on Fri Nov 02, 2001 3:29 pm

Do any of the UK members of the board know where to buy big arse fireworks??

I'm talking upwards of £40 per firework. Me and my friends are chipping in for one to take to a fireworks party and were looking to spend about £80-£100 on one so if anybody knows of any retail outlets that specialise in fireworks then can they give me a shout.

Cheers guys

Sorry, dont know.We have enough idiots who let them of at around 3 am for no reason.

Organised partys are fine, but when they let them of a whole month before the 5th and then well after the event it kinda bugs me.

I heard there was some goverment restriction in force but that cant apply to my area as
enough people are lighting them up.I gueess if you keep searching the corner shops and newsagents youll find them soon enough.

Right, I took Pd's advice and made my own. Gunpowder is surprisingly easy to make once you get started. Add a few different metals in there too and you got nice pretty colours.

I used a large cardboard cylinder that I found and packed the bottom with the powder to act as a mortar and then filled up a football with a nice mixture. The fuse was the hardest part because as I found out. A burning rag isnt suitable.

I'm typing this from my private hospital bed after having been the only person within a 50 meter radius to survive the blast. LOL

Now, we venture from the realms of the imagination into the real world and find that hamleys in london had a great selection but my mate couldnt be arsed to drive up there so we got a rather dissapointing £70 one from another place. It was quite exciting though as one of the fireworks went wrong and launched loads of explosions at our little crowd. Always more fun when there is danger involved!
