eDonkey?

The last time I tried eDonkey, it was a real piece of shit. This was a while ago, so maybe it has been updated.

It's a P2P program whose closest match would probably be Direct Connect. I think you get it at http://www.edonkey2000.com

Not sure on the URL, it's probably been 6 months since I've actually been to the edonkey site. Just type edonkey into Google, I'm sure you'll find it.

eDonkey officially sucks. I tried it out, and I couldn't even connect to any fucking servers. Pfft... :roll:

eDonkey is slow. But it does have few good ideas in it:

1. It forces people to share. You can set the amount of bandwidth for upload, but if you set it too low your download bandwidth will be limited too.

2. It checks every small parts of the large file you download. If it found the corrupted sector it'll search the server again to replace those.

3. No spyware (yet)

However, you'll have to update the server once in a while, because the server auto-detect function build in sucks. And it's a memory hog, eats up system resources really fast if you leave it on for a while. Now I only download large files off eDonkey because of the file check feature. And so far I'm pretty happy with it. Yes it's slow as hell most of the time but at least I don't have to worry about corrupted files.

Why not just use Kazaa Lite? it has no spyware and a massive selection of everything.

Kazaa Lite does offer lots of files to choose. But the corrupted files in video or program is really annoying and Kazaa doesn't has the ability to find and fix it. If you got part of the corrupted file the only way to fix it is to download the whole thing over again. eDonkey, on the other hand, will fix that part so you don't have to download the whole file again. That's the reason why I (and many warez sites) perfer eDonkey over others.

dont u hate downloadin a 200meg what it suppose to be an epiosode but its actually only music/sounds?

yeah, u can probably download again, that is, if that user is online and more ofthen then naught, he aint.I just dont have that hard drive room to share all of them , and that is too bad..:_(.

i even downloaded that freeze fix for those large files too and it didnt help that much either

Sorry to ask a stupid question but what is spy ware?

I'm guessing its some kind of program that allows you to access somebody's hard disk via a p2p prog or something similar.

Spyware is something that companies use to see what your surfing habits are and then can use it to pop ads that you might like or they sell your info.
