Oldish: Diablo II: LOD

I recently won Diablo 2 and the expansion off e-bay and can't stop playing it. It's highly repetetive but the online play just wont let me leave. Doesn't anybody else play this game?

I've played it before, but have never owned a copy of it myself. Those types of games are pretty addicting; you just want to keep building up your character forever

Im still playing Oblivion actually.

I tried Neverwinter NIghts which I believe has a similar look, ie sort of bird's eye view of your character rather than FP or 3rd person and I found that quite slow going.

Diablo always looked like the same sort of thing so I never gave it a chance. What exactly do you do in online play? Is it like a MMORPG or something? If so, do you have to pay a subscription?

It's free and I got both games for a tenner. There are five different Acts (levels) each with 6 quests. Online, you can team up with 8 other characters (Assasin, Paladin, Barbarian, Druid etc etc..) and kill baddies. The character bit is the sweetest part of the game. Each of the classes are really really different and in each class there is about 20 skills for each one. For example, I have made a Martial Arts assasin who specialises in hand to hand combat, but I could have made a trap assasin who leaves nasty things for the baddies to step on. The equipment hunting part is also addictive, but I can't get into that now.

Hmm....well you never know. If I buy it maybe I'll see you online sometime and it could be like the old Ragnarok days!

used to play diablo2 online but at that time,i had an *ahem* illegal key..so i gav eup on it.sinbce they really cracked down on it.

plus theres mods out there that can make ur char go up to liek lvl 255 or something..lol..plus you have to worry about pk killers, dupes, and other sttuff, plus the requirements for d2 is not as bad as winternights..

if you never played it,just goto practically anywhere..you can get a copy..its almost freeware to a point as far as i concern :D

It's much better than Ragnarock, and Blizzard are cool with cheaters; characters are kept on their servers and it's impossible to hack characters.
