OK Im considering getting some sort of remote desktop thing going so I can control my home PC from work if need be.

I need something lightweight that doesnt eat up resources as the PC I will control from is not up to much.

Anyway, a friend suggested using XPs own VPN settings but I already connect to a LAN and a VPN while at work and dont want yet another network connection to piss about with.

So a lightweight remote desktop application? Any suggestions?

I use windows remote desktop.

It's secure, free, and I find that the performance is goog enought that I can access my desktop (with some lag) using dial up or even my cellphones gprs.

No vpn needed, just open up the ports on your router and enable it in windows.

Yeah its because I work for an IT services company and we are on a client site so we dont have access to the proper network. We have to dial into it using VPN so everybody has these little token things that have a access code that changes every 30 seconds or something.

I'll look into this XP remote thing.
