Dont have time for a review just now, got people round.

Heres some screen shots I took while playing this game. 1024x768 res with the detail bar to max. I didnt bother doing the advanced menu stuff.

For a very basic review...looks lovely, plays smooth on those settings mostly with the odd stutter here and there. Hard as a motherfucker!! Career mode will test you from the very beginning and theres no difficulty setting.
Music is the usual mix of metal, pop, hip-hop etc. and the engine sounds are just as nice as in N4SU2. Feels better to be playing in daylight for once and the cops are a nice new addition adding some different play modes where you have to lose them by destroying parts of the city and leaving them to clean up the mess while you find a safe house.

It can get extremely hard pretty quickly. On the 3rd boss on the list one of the side goals is to escape the police after having caused damage to 8 seperate police cars. The longer the chase goes on the more follow you so to get up to 8 can take quite a bit of running around and 8 cars on your case are hard to shake once you have tagged them all I can tell you.

Give it a try, its on the torrent networks but I had to use sd4hide.exe to get it to work and its fussy even then but its worth having a go of if you like your driving games going down to the wire in a lot of races. This one's a challenge.

I have a PCIe 256mb Geforce 6800GT.

I should probably up the res to 1280x1024 but I just started playing it really and didnt fiddle with the settings other than to up the detail.

Give it a try.

Not my type of game. If I want to play arcade racing I'll play burnout 3 and burnout revenge.

Burnout looks really cool.

Until an XBOX360 and Ridge Racer 6 magicaly appear in my house, this'll do.

To be honest theres not much difference between the normal edition and the black edition I got so I'd just go for a normal one to save time. The differences are supposed to be an extra dvd with some making of vids on it and things and also an extra tweaked car but I couldnt be arsed with watching the DVD and thought the car would be easily accessable. Just ignore it.

The only thing I miss is car damage. YOu can break your windows and scratch your paintwork a bit but thats all. Its more arcade racing than a simulation which is all good.

That looks really sweet, thanks for posting the pics.

What's your machine's specs, other than the video card?

AMD Athlon 64 3500+
Asus A8N-E nForce4 Ultra PCI-Express Motherboard
GeIL 1GB Value (2x512MB) DDR PC3200 CAS2.5 Dual Channel Kit
250GB Western Digital Caviar SE16 16mb Cache SATA-2 Hard Drive

Still gotta get myself a 450w PSU, a X-Fi soundcard and after that I can think about one of those Dell widescreen monitors or some more RAM or maybe by then a new gfx card or better mobo.

Have to wait for the money to start coming in from my new job though.

Its not perfect yet but its getting there.

Runs Black & White 2 on high settings like a dream! Thats with AAx2 and AFx8 I dont always bother letting the games tell the card what settings to use.
