http://www.quinnware.com/ is the closest thing to WinAmp , or maybe Sonique (but you have to register for that one).

I just use XMMS on linux.

Oh, I use VLC (http://www.videolan.org/) for all my video needs too.

I've been using qcd (quinnware) since winamp 3.

Winamp was my favourite from about 1999 - 2002. It was good quality, free and had a large skin and plug in community.

These days I just use Media Player cause of how it works well with windows xp and it plays most files.

VLC is rockin for video files which don't play on anything else and so is Media Player Classic.

At least Winamp is one of the most perfect programs out there that there's not very much to improve. Still an awesome mp3 player.
