Quake 2 anyone?

Postby adidas on Mon Jun 07, 2004 2:31 am

I recently accquired a q2 ISO which, to my surprise, works on XP and a geforce3 with no problems.

There are also active servers :)

I've played it online a little, and if anyone wants to download it from my FTP and get whooped by me sometime, bring it on :)

Pfft. Ooooozing confidence. Typical American ;);)

Ok I think I overstepped Ad's mark there lol

Im downloading it now mate, lemmie know when you are about and we'll have a game. Dont think I've played this before (not that it will be too different from any other FPS) so I'll have to learn the maps a bit.

Anybody else up for the ruck?

Bringing this thread back up...

Anybody up for Quake 2 then? Just installed it and am having a go on this server: 67.19.248.74:27912

It still has it's charm on-line.

Well bollocks!

I literally uninstalled it a few days ago during a clean up.

Im sure I should still have the zip of it that Adidas provided me with.

If we can get a few people interested then I'd be up for some today. It being Sunday the 13th and all that.

We could arrange a game in Damian's IRC channel #obfuscation on efnet. THat'd be the easiest way to get it going.

*bump*

I still have the zip of Q2 and i also have it on disc.

Also, some people were thinking about playing some Halo PC again. DUnno if anybody here played last time other than Damian and myself but some other friends of ours played too and we had a great time using Skype and shooting eachother with Rocket Shotguns.

Anyway, before this post is lost to the realm of no replies again I thought I would mention it.

Excellent, well hopfully Damian will see this and Ive seen you in #obfuscation too so I know you have IRC.
We might be able to get a game going this weekend with a little luck.
Its gonna take some pissing about with updates and cracks to get it running again.
We tend to play with the odd mod installed here and there by the way. Our favourite one being the rocket shotgun mod which changes each pellet the shotgun fires into a rocket.
Thats about 6-8 rockets per shot and it totally rules!

Oh not necessarily at all!

We're all using cracked copies of the game. The only real restriction is that you cant join most public servers. No major biggie.

Cant you run off a copy of your mate's game while you have it? Or at least install it and get the no-cd patch so you can give it back no problems.

Quake 2 isnt out of the question but I have to say I prefer the original Unreal Tournament to it.

I still have Q2 on CD though.

Oh and if you dont have skype it might be worth getting. It makes it that much more entertaining to play!!
