New Hardware

Postby release on Sun Mar 21, 2004 8:24 am

Just got myself another 200 GB HDD and a Sapphire Radeon 9600XT 256Mb(w/HL2 voucher)...

That brings my total HDD space to 440 GB - oh so close to 1/2 a TB 8)

Bringing my mame sets back online (ran out space previously so I had to archive them off to DVD).

Next up I might grab a Athlon XP 3200+ (currently sitting on a 2.4).

Cheers,

Release.

Seeing as how you just got a agp video card, if you can hold off on your cpu upgrade for about two months you should be able to save some money on a good cpu mobo combo since the new chipsets will be comng out.

lol why did you buy it if you weren't going to use it? Could've saved yourself a couple hundred, no doubt.

I don't even use all of the 160 GB I have available. 2 80 GB HDDs here.

C: has nothing but installed programs and XP itself.
D: has about 34 GB of music and all the apps I've accumulated in zip form ;)

I actually like the 2 HDD setup a lot better. I end up formatting pretty often and I don't have to worry about backing up almost 40 GB worth of files on D: every time I do it.

If I didn't buy it I would have only saved $25;) (Dell had a deal for $200 for a 200GB 8MB wd drive and accidentally posted two $100 MIR and they honored both!!).

In my main system (not my servers) I have two 80GB drives and both are pretty much filled.

I need more dvd's and blank cd's to make some room.

I just bought 25 DVD+RWs for $25. Look out for sales at CompUSA ;)

I don't need them for space saving; I use them for back up purposes in case anything happens to the drive. Though my music folder fit on 8 DVDs so I don't know what to do with the rest now
