CoD: anybody else got probs with this?

got my new pc few days ago (yeah baby) and thought i'd test the bitch out wih some new software.

i can run giants:kabuto on 1600x1200 on full detail with no fps loss. looks great, i use this game as a benchmark.

i *got* call of duty but the damn thing crashes every ten minuts, anybody else have similar probs?

Try update your motherboard, video card, and sound card drivers. Also check if you have the latest DirectX. Try these first and see if these fix your problem.

runs great here, though I haven't tried it since the patch came out.

okay, although i'm a lil bit weary of it, i'm gonna change my mobo drivers.

im not to sure what drivers i need to get though: do i get "Leadtek nForce 2" drivers or "WinFast K7NCR18" drivers? or are they the same thing? also, how do i check my current drivers?

well, i download all sorts of crap, the game run for a bout 5-6 minutes then crashes. i think it might be a heat problem. ah well, looks like im stuck with americas fucking army.

What's your system spec? A bit more info might be easier for us to help out.

If you want to see it's heat related problem or not, simply remove your case side panel and place a fan close to it. If the game doesn't crash then you might need better cooling solution.

Another way is to touch your video and CPU heatsink (make sure you grounded yourself first) and see if it's too hot to touch.

Dude I think there is a fix for your problem. I'll see if I can find any more info on it later.

I have a problem with that game too. Since I installed my GeforceFX 5200 I cant play it at all! I get serious graphics glitches where peoples heads turn inside out, textures flicker and move about and distort. Never used to happen with the old ATI card.

Anyway, I got the card tested and its fine so something is fucked on this PC. It does the same thing with Sonic Adventure DX.

I'll post a pic of Sonic doing it sometime and see if anybody recognises the problem.

Old video card drivers is the most common cause for new games randomly bombing, i've had that twice in the last year or so myself. COD worked fine though, even before I updated my drivers around that time to get KOTOR to work properly.

Certainly not the RAM,hopefully its not the videocard since its looks pretty nice..different resolutions of the game didnt help?

yeah, i tried running it in safe mode and it has the same problems. maybe cause i got it from suprnova?

ima get some more games soon, if the problems persists it's back to the shop, lucky i got warranty.

what other bitching pc games are there? i'm definately gonna buy raven shield (big fan of the first 2 games) but sometimes FPS all tend to be a bit samy. have they made any good RPGS rcently?

just to say, i updated my bios from ladtek and the game works a treat. fucking good game, much btter than MOH:Frontline, a shame i can't play on-line but i aint forking out Â£50 for a FPS.

Are you still talking about COD? You can play that online. Just get the crack and the cracked server list from someplace like http://www.clansites.net/view.php?v=servers
