Vintage Windows Games

Postby RabidYak on Wed Nov 12, 2003 12:32 am

Was rifling througth an old box today and suprisingly found my old copy of the Windows 3.1 Best of Microsoft Entertainment Pack disk, which installs and works perfectly in XP and includes -

Chips Challenge
Pipemania/Pipe Dreams
Ski Free
Jezzball
Rodents Revenge
Tetravex

Plus a load of card games (including the original version of Freecell from before they started bundling it with Windows), the shitty windows Tetris and one of those jap tile games.

I'll upload if/when Shane gets back up. Even if you dont remember this shit, its worth a look to see what state of the art windows software looked like 10 years ago.

Sort of Qix rip-off where you click the mouse instead of carving the playfield out with a dot.

My old man played that game a shitload back then and has just started again now i've found the disk and put it on his machine.

Yeah, thats it. I'm crap at those games, I usually think i'm going to win and then I get to a point where all the tiles I need are all being pinned down by one or two others.

lol yeah! I remember now. Jezzball was satanic

After a while you get so many balls going that it should be impossible to block off parts of the screen.

Exactly the same game, just on a bigger screen with Microsoftised visuals and a better interface. For some reason Chip is white in the Windows version, as opposed to looking like a Gollywog like in the ST and Lynx versions.
