Simple Network based question

Postby release on Sun Apr 13, 2003 8:23 am

I'm trying to test connection to my new ftp server.

If I attempt to connect using the internal ip address (192.168.1.2) then I can see the ftp server. however, if I try to connect via the dyndyns address I've set up then it resolves the ip address correctly (the public internet ip address 152.x.y.a) but then returns "ERROR: Connection refused".

The modem I have is an NB1300 and I've got it configured as an Ethernet Gateway.

To get emule working I had to set up port forwarding for some ports.

I tried this for the ftp aspect, but no luck. Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to fix my dilemma ?

Right now I'm very :? so Thanks in advance :)
Cheers,

Release.

Are you using a router? If so did you forward the correct ports?

Yes I am using a router... I only forwarded port 70 (the one I selected that a user of the ftp has to specify). How do I determine if there are other required ports ?
