Ok how do you use edonkey?

Ok so I've downloaded ed2k (v0.47)
I seem to be connected but when I click on a link from sharereactor it goes in my transfer box and it just sits there "looking" and it finds a bunch of people (I'm guessing that what it's doing) but it doesn't actually transfer anything.


I really hate this p2p shit but if it has complete sets in one download then I'll bare with it.

allright... first point is it does work !

you need to get http://ocbmaurice.dyndns.org/ to have any chance of it working correctly. secondly, you need to set a few options in the servers section (such as always connect on loss, and reconnect on loss) I've got all programs I've looked for via edonkey... tis a nice prog, but you have to be patient (eg freelancer took 3 days to download but it was 25 days before official release).

What exactly am I supposed to download on that page?



And I've already set those parameters in the options.

Oh and just incase it matters, the transfer window shows status as "queue place: ???"

you need to share files (not program files) like roms etc in order to get a reasonable ID... low ID = crap download speed. high ID = semi reasonable download speed.

Try eMule and see which one will let you get the file faster. Sharereactor's forum has detail step-by-step how to set up eDonkey. If you're too lazy to read, just get the serverlist from release's post.

Download anything from eDonkey network always takes a long time. But you can find a lot of stuff you can't find anywhere else.

Just put the server.met file to your eDonkey's folder and replace the original one. You should have the new server list next time you start up eDonkey.
