what's up with Kega?

Sometimes Even Console Emulation Can be Deceptive

what's up with Kega?

Postby Pdaimaoh on Tue Jan 15, 2002 9:14 am

funny we get a bunch of segaCD emulators and suddenly the Kgen guy is back from being owned by sega?

not to mention 'kega' is one letter away from 'xega'

??????
wtf?

anyway, kega zero release runs Vay better than the last time I tried Xega or the other nonGens segaCD emu

then I forced my way to the second town and right after I talked to the first guy, the controls stopped working...
that's a sucky kind of crash...

oh well
it was a quick test

have you noticed that..

everytime gens is updated, kega is updated?

weird. either hes ripping off code from Stef (author of gens) or they are sharing knowledge.. one or the other.

I think they are all sharing, or that SS is the man behind the power of most of them anyway, I mean, Kgen was one of the first, wasn't it? and still one of the best

maybe he infiltrated sega to get the dig on SegaCD emulation!?

EDIT: well what do ya know.. gens 1.80 was released and sure enough kega 0.03 has been released as well.. HMMMM...

stevesnake will end up reigning over stef on segacd emulation...

becuase SS helped stef in the beginning on everything.. from my knowledge.

hopefully kega will include 32x emulation
either way, both emus are fuckin awesome

I fail to see how any Genesis/SegaCD emulator could be a clear cut favorite over Gens (not including the possible addition of 32x support), which is already a great emulator. Especially if the two authors are helping each other out.

It's all about the GUI

Snes9x and Zsnes were collaborating quite a bit there, and are basically the same, but Snes9x has a better GUI in my opinion

I only use snes9x because of the GUI. Useability is very important to me in a emulator, that's why I use mame32 instead of mame.
