You want Xega in the files section. Of course, latest version,of Gens has SCD support as well if you remember so you might want to try both.

Is Sega CD emulated yet? Or is it in it's early stages of emulation?

Sega CD?

Ok, I downloaded SonicCD today off a nice ftp I found, have not burned it yet but I don't think I will bother until tomorrow as new Gens supports ISOs and MP3's!

Ok I have tried out both emulators with the ISO/MP3s.

Before you start with either, go here http://gens.consolemul.com and find out where to get the BIOs (I forgot, it is in the manual).

Gens I tried first naturally, it booted up to the start screen of SonicCD (with a bit of a pause) but when I tried starting the game, it just froze.

Xega on the other hand worked fine except most of the music was missing (not sure it can read MP3s) and it had no stutterances and emulated the clouds scrolling in the title screen of Sonic which Gens did not. Only on one level I got music when I went into the future, so I assume that either they are on the ISO or that was a one off.

Also, on Xega you need to reset to memory do this by pressing A at the BIOs, options and then clear RAM. Unfortunately Xega does not have any joypad support at this time.

Yeah, but has anyone tried it? I knew there were some that had Sega CD emulation, but is it worth downloading an ISO?

Shit, I'll just see if I can find an ISO and give it a try.

I cant get anything started in xega. I load the bios and it brings up a segacd screen but then when I try to load a game it says I need to configure the bios.

Nice then! I'm gonna allow xega and go for gens instead.

Can anybody tell me if its necessary to configure the bios roms for that too?

Sure it is, the BIOs is essential. I was going to have a look back at SegaCD today so I'll see how Xega is configured and tell you how to do it.

Ok, in Xega goto config/bios and select which type you wish to config (U,J, or E). Then select the BIOs from where you stored it and viola.
