Sometimes Even Console Emulation Can be Deceptive

Mr. Rom, this game is the shit! Capcom vs. SNK 1 was good, but this is so much better.

Thanks to Sabin for file #3, which the ftp I was downloading off of didn't have for some reason.

And oh yeah, the MAME roms too. I've gotten the numbered through the letter 'A'

Does it still have the point system that part 1 had?

I still haven't burned it. As for tekken 4, its nothing special. The arcade i go to has a machine and it is almost always unused. Every now and then there is a small group around it but it is probably the least played fighting game there. Even x-men vs street fighter gets more play.

'point system' ?

hmmm

well there's the RATIO system, but unlike before, it's just a pool of points you decide where they go
but that's just one MODE (you can have up to three team members with 4 pooled ratio pts)

but there's also the Capcom 1 on 1 and the KoF 3 on 3
those don't seem to use the ratio system

then the grooves further change things like power levels and types of defense
there are three capcom and three SNK grooves

the capcom grooves are like SFA, the hypercombo SFA2, and SF3 (!!!)

the SNK grooves are like uhhh well I dunno, but the K groove is Garou:MotW style with 'just defense' and whatever, then the other two are something like the Fatal Fury 'sidestep' and the other I don't know (kof?)

the best part is you can unlock a groove edit mode to pick what features you want and what kind of powerbar to have! (sadly, I only have a pool of 4000 pts to spend and some of the features I want cost too much for one groove!)

Uhhh, wait a sec. You earn points to spend? Damn. I've just been shutting off the game when I was done without saving. The only thing I bothered saving were my control configurations.

I enjoy my VGS...heh

the points don't work like that, but you SHOULD turn on the autosave option cause it's so useful

you get those GPS or whatever when you fight rounds, and that determines your bosses
those are only per 'play' like regular game points

the points for the EX grooves are set at 4000, those points don't change either (unless you can unlock a change)

the ratio points are standard also, there are four for your team, to divvy up as you see fit

you need to save after you beat the game if you got G. Rugal or S. Gouki
I dunno if rugal and gouki regular are already there or must be unlocked
same with geese and bison, and evil ryu and that orochi dude

when you beat both super bosses and have them in your inventory I think that's it, the rest probably are already in there
and then you can access the boss battle mode

and there's some kind of extra options that let you add in more than the EX groove stuff

<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">quote:</font><HR>

<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

I think you forgot to mention that S. Gouki's raging demon attack will KO you, even if you have full health! Shit. I was playing the 3 player battle with Ken, Sagat, and Rugal.

My bouts with Ken and Sagat were competitve, although I lost. The third round wasn't even close since S. Gouki started the round off right away with the raging demon and KO'd me!

I managed to unlock God Rugal just now, he's not quite as tough as S. Gouki, who put an ass whooping on me.
