MORE Sega CD help. (Sonic CD)

Postby M on Fri Feb 01, 2002 12:47 pm

Well, I have everything running smooth with my Sega CD emulation, except for Sonic CD. The game starts then it goes to a screen that said, "RAM cartrige is not utilizied. Use options screen to initialize RAM cartrige." What do I have to do to fix this problem? Thanks in advance. ^_^

When the Mega CD/Sega CD logo comes up, press A then go to the options screen. Somewhere in there there's a menu option that lets you format the memory card.... something like that

I havent actually tried SCD emulation yet.

I think I'll give it a go. Anybody know where to get the games?

Oh sod that!! Do you need to download both the ISO and the Sound for the game too??

If you do then I doubt I'll ever try SCD emulation.

How do you get the music to play?

I unzipped all those mp3s. Do I have to do anything in particular with them?

EC is pretty cool if you liked the cartridge version (I've only played the CD one once, and drunk...)

I have no idea about emulation of sonic CD since I don't have nor care about that game

as for .mp3, if you are running it in a fatty emulator that can play them that way, I'm sure they need to be named something particular (like 'track 1' or 'sonicCD1' or something)

or convert to .wav and burn a CD according to the faqs (which I've not done, I got timegal to try out, and I didn't really feel like mapping my controller so I used the arrow keys, and got screwed when I needed to press 'the button' cause I had no idea where it was...)

I ran the ISO of shining force CD back in the day, and then burned several discs with the music and on the fifth try, the disc booted and played, but that was back when sound emulation on SegaCD wasn't there, so there was no way to tell if it was even reading the music

I lost track of the CD that worked so I can't even test it now! d'oh!

that site that was mentioned here has them in .cdi format so that's nice (that means the music is there already...usually...)

If somebody with broadband decides to get one, can they post about its quality before us poor 56kers waste a days downloading?

btw - Adidas helped me to sort out the music. You just rename all the MP3s to the same as the iso.

ie

Sonic.iso
Sonic 02.mp3
Sonic 03.mp3

and so on. Starting at 02 though and going up sequentially from there.
