ROM not loading? Computer crashing? discuss it here

Question for ivwshane.

Postby M on Mon Jan 07, 2002 2:45 am

I'm using your ftp to download mame roms and that huge snes file.

Anyway, since I have a slow 56k connection which almost never gets up to 56k I can't download any of the large files that I need in the amount of idle time that you have set up on my account. Whenever I start to download a large file after a while it disconnects because I am "idle". But how can I be idle, I'm downloading a file? Anyway, is there a way to fix this problem?

Thanks man, you're the best.

Ahh I was wondering what happened with that. I didnt want to be left connected after I finished downloading during the night or while I was out but I guess that fixes the prob.

Although I do get a lot of those NOOP commands whatever those are?!?

Nah, "NOOP" means no operation. So anytime you are not making a file request it NOOPs to keep your connection active. The rxrw etc determines the folder permissions (read, write, execute etc).
