nt! *shakes head*

Well, anyway. I would start out by making sure that you have "Draw every frame" selected in the dropdown box in Advanced Options.

What games run too fast?

Maybe you should try fiddling with some of the other settings, like turning up the sound quality, etc.

Turn on Throttle in the Default Options box.

Throttle? I didn't realize until now there was such an option.

Heh, actually, no I'm not. I don't look forward to MAME releases all that much like a lot of people do, and even when I do get around to downloading a ROM or a new build of MAME I don't use it that much. Not that I don't find it interesting though.

I've still got Mame 32 .058 (the one with the glitch where if you go to audio options it crashes) on my drive. I tried to play a few games on it the other day only to find that the ROMs I have wouldn't run. That really puts a damper on my desire to play a game.

I'm more into console emulation, I guess.

You should reduce the frameskip under "default options".

When in a game, you can see what speed/frameskip is currently running by pressing F11. F10 toggles the emu to run as fast as possible using current frameskip, and F8/F9 decrease or increase the frameskip value.

Tried all of the above, it's still screwy.. Metal slug, for example, sometimes goes uberfast.. I don't know what I did, but I got it to stay around the right speed usually but the sounds in pacman get weird and he doesn't stay at a constant speed.. --wtf--

Make sure the settings are the same for the game as the ones you set for the "default game settings".

Also matching your settings to the ones in the link should help as well,
