VPinMAME problems. Plus some other crap.

Postby M on Tue Apr 09, 2002 12:01 am

Hey all! I need some answers.

1. How do I run Visual Pin MAME? I installed it and it didn't make an execute, loading, or any kind of app so that I can start the emulator up. How do I get it going? Do you really have to put it in a folder that is directly in c drive?

2. Which emulator can play Sengoku 3 nowadays?

Thanks.

Peace.

VpinMAME works in conjuction with a program called Visual Pinball. VpinMAME emulates the electronic gubbins that runs the table, Visual Pinball simulates the table itself.

To run a game, youll need to install and set them both up first. Once youve done that, get both the ROMs and the table file for the pin you want to play and put all the stuff in the appriate places. Once youve done that, open Visual Pinball and load the the table file. Press the play button and it'll render the table, open VPM, load the Roms, give the usuall copywrite stuff and asks you to tell it the emulator options for that table. Actuall Table options have to be set from the machine test menu, just like in regular arcade emulators.

Youll also need to get the extra script files that VP uses to work with VPM and do some of the more specialised stuff. Dump them in the same directory as your table files.

All the goods can be found at http://www.vpforums.com/vptables/tables.shtml . Since its hosted by vpforums youll need to get yourself an account at the message board before you can D/Led them.

And no, you can put it where you like as long as you set it up there.

Well, my guess is there is something you have to do to the ROM to get it working on NRX, or there is a different set altogether for NRX. That's usuallù the case.

Haha, actually I have another emulation woe. I found out that Sengoku 3 plays on NeoRageX, but I can't find the rom anywhere. Is there a good place to download it?

Yeah. The set for NRX is 20mb. The one that isn't is like 50. I had a few sites that had it, but they weren't working right. They had both versions. ^_^

Sengoku3 runs in ezmame32 same with rock'n tread roms, you'll need the 43meg rom of S3.
