MAME 059 set & MAME32??

ROM not loading? Computer crashing? discuss it here

MAME 059 set & MAME32??

Postby TheLastKamikaze on Fri Mar 29, 2002 7:58 pm

I ran the fix option in RomCenter 2.42 (with the MAME 059 dat file) and after a few hours 3292 files are correct (... according to RomCenter anyways)

MAME32 however claims 3 roms are incorrect after the audit (but strangely enough they still load & play fine!).

... any suggestions? (is the problem with the audit performed by MAME32, and that for some reason it's reporting that a correct rom is actually incorrect?)

the three roms in question are

1) madgearj
2) ledstorm
3) youma

thanks

hasn't there been some news about recent MAME revisions and the rom checking tools?

I don't use em
if my games work, that's all I care about, renaming or whatever else hardly matters so I've never really bothered

Pdaimaoh: It's supposed to be fixed in the most recent version of RomCenter... supposed to be...

ivwshane: Is there anyway you could post those roms on your ftp? ? (if so could you post the user/pass too... my old account no longer works, thanks)

Ivwshane, can you unzip these files from the mame sets and zip them up again for me, just missing 2 files from the set and don't want to d/l these larger ones.

No problem JB, by the time you read this it should be up in your own special folder, let me know when you get it though so I can delete it.

Ivwshane, why is your MAME ROMs directory coming up in my client as being over 7 gigs in size? HaHa I hope that report is false but if it isn't you should get ClrMAMEPro and make all the sets merged to save some 3 gigs odd.

It should be less than 7GB. I'm not too woried about the space yet. When I finally back up my mame roms then I might try messing with them.
