Trying to muster some enthusiasm over this but with the shitty controlls theres no way Im paying for this. I got the last SF2 game on XBLA and have played it a total of twice.

Both times I got frustrated by the end of the second round and turned it off vowing to never play again until they can bring out a decent arcade stick.

Wondering if X-Arcade will get round to bringing out a 360 adaptor.

Hi guys, I know it's been a while...

Personally I can't wait for this game, but I can understand your hesitation Silverhaze given the general crappiness of the d-pad on the 360.

I bought one of these http://www.consolesandgadgets.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/2290?osCsid=03b2c0a34398dabf1bd95080 off of ebay, and the d-pad on this is just like the classic SNES... I was shocked not too many people have mentioned this before. The only thing that sucks is that it's not wireless... but come on, SF HD Remix is going to be sweet. I can't wait... I just wish it weren't on XBLA... I would've rather owned the actual DVD...

Heh another setback Im afraid.

My 360 is currently bricked.

That pad looks pretty nice though. Def worth a look.

trust me, it's a good pad... albeit a little "clicky" (the A button) but other than that it's perfect for the XBLA games.

I'm looking foward to this more then any other game this year, but its no sale unless I can get a stick to play it on and i'm not going to pay the silly aftermarket price that the Hori DOA4 one is going for.

Still, i'll have the new Minter game and the Speedball 2 remake to keep me going until that happens and I can't imagine that the stick deficit will continue much longer with both this and Virtua Fighter 5 on the horizon.

Yeah I agree. They cant possibly have something called Xbox Live Arcade without at some point releasing a decent arcade stick for it.

Yak, as the proud owner of an X-Arcade panel (you bar steward!!) any news on a 360 dongle thingy for it yet?

I keep promising myself an x-arcade and for £100 I think thats a fking bargain!! I really should get one although I know how little I will use it. Actually....if theres a gamecube dongle for it then surely it could be used on a Wii in conjuction with Virtual Console??

I'm on the fence with X-Arcade too... just waiting for it to be 360 compatible, then I'll come down from my perch.

Apparently the X-Arcade dudes are having trouble getting a 360 adaptor done because MS tightly controls the input gubbins in the console and you need to go througth them if you want to use it. Gamecube adaptors are available, but i've got no idea whether they work on the Wii. Can't say that there would be anything on VC that I would consider using a stick for anyway since its all console stuff.

I'm personally going to wait and see if Hori or Nuby release anything decent for the 360 later in the year, some of thier higher end Playstation stuff is supposed to be pretty good and using my X-Arcade in my lap just isn't practical. I could buy a single player one if/when a 360 adaptor shows up, but they are only about a tenner cheaper then the two player units and i'm starting to get the arse with the sticks in my current unit since they need adjusting every so often to keep them responsive enough for fighting games.

Adjusting?! Please elaborate?

Yak they have SF2 on the SNES for VC if you're interested in that. Thats the version I cut my teeth on all those years ago. Then I went back to the arcades and pwned them!
Then a million other versions of SF2 came out and I lost track.

The metal triggers on the microswitches need bending to reduce the throw and make it equal in all four directions, even when its fresh out of the box. I keep meaning to buy some better sticks to put in it, which i'll have to do soon anyway as the left one is starting to get a bit knackered.

No sale on SNES versions of SF2. They were good when you coulden't get anything better at home, but theres no reason to still be playing them now with both emulators and a shitload of better console ports readily available.
