Postby were on Tue Mar 07, 2006 5:07 pm

ok my bro got a new system now:
asus p5gd1 mobo

p4 3.0g

1g of ram

msi 600gt video card

aspire case

now it seems he can't get the heatsink/fan to work.he tested on his old computer and it works fine.is it possible ne needs a newer power supply or perhaps the fan is "gone".any more suggestions? :?

I had a similar problem not so long ago. A new PSU should do the job. A 350W isn't to expensive and he might even consider getting a more powerful one. It is imperitive however that he checks the limit to what his motherboard can take. Too much wattage will fry it.
God gave me everything I want!

Yeah it sounds like he needs to find what sort of PSU his mobo can support.

That graphics card should do fine on a 350w though.

Does his current power supply have a 4 pin power connector? If so does he have it plugged in?
