Nvidia Releases 7300 GS

Nvidia Corp. on Wednesday launched its latest graphics controller, a lower-performance counterpart to the GeForce 7800.

Although the cards will carry an affordable price tag of about $99 while supporting the features like Pixel Shader 3.0, the new GeForce 7300 GS also drops performance metrics like pixels per clock and vertex fill rate by an appreciable margin. GeForce 7300 GS cards will arrive in time for Chinese New Year (Jan. 26) in Asia, and in North America and Europe by early February.

Talk of Voodoo cards thesedays always makes me think of the one that 3DFX almost put into production before they went bust, the foot long job with 4 GPUs and an external supply. I thought they were taking the piss when I first saw them in a magazine.
