It's cool. But Even with these graphics, I have yet to find games as good as Zelda and Super Mario Kart.

Yeah they just never tickled my fancy. I always planned on playing one of the newer ones on the GC but never got round to it. I tend to buy more MP games than SP.

This is gonna sound really shallow but the gfx put me off the NES and SNES games. Im the same with full on RPGs like the FF series early games.
I need the eye candy and uber spells and things of the 3D games to keep my interest.

Sorry yeah

MP/SP - Multi player/Single Player

Most of my games are of the multiplayer variety with things like the Mario Party games, Monkey Ball games, Micro Machines, Mashed and Kart racers.

I do get myself single player games but they tends to be of the Ratchet & Clank, GTA or God of War persuasion. I got Paper Mario on the GC last year for Xmas, that was great up until the final son of a bitch boss that I couldnt beat.

What Im really looking forward to is the eventual release of Kingdom Hearts 2.

I only really play them by myself when I need to unlock levels and that sort of thing. Once most of the good stuff is unlocked I dont really play them much on my own.

We play 4 player and sometimes more if its possible. 6 man Royal Rumbles in the PS2 wrestling games are a riot!
Mashed is one for MP too, that gets lots of play time but I'd say the one game thats had the most MP play time would be Crash Team Racing on the PS1.

The dissapointing thing about the Mario Party games is the lack of incentive in single player. Theres not much to unlock other than unusable items that you can look at should you feel the need.

Time Splitters 2 is great fun but we dont play that as often as we used to. Just the odd Flame Tag or Virus match every so often.

Heh I've heard of a few of the titles you mentioned. I'll have to look some of the others up and see what they are all about.

i always like "old school" games..so long the gameplay/controls are good then i pretty much dont care about the graphics(wel depends on the game that needs GOOD graphics..lol)

majority of gc games are multiplayer,so i can see why playing 1 player game such as mario party aint that great.

i found interesting in a article at torrentspy that th xbox 360 is not doing well in japan..go figure..the console is WAY overhyped..

They're holding out for the PS3 I'll bet.

I know what you mean. Really good multiplayer games dont come along often and it takes a REALLY good one to get played again and again.

Mashed: Fully Loaded is really good. It doesnt look great but its good enough but the beauty lies in the game play. Its nicely balanced so over a long period the best player will end up with a hand full of wins over the next best player but even the worst players win the odd round here and there.

Crash Team Racing too gets regular play. Poor PS1 graphics but its loved by just about everybody I know.

I've been playing a lot of SSX: On Tour lately but the difficulty level sky rockets towards the later goals and it loses all its fun which is a shame. SSX3 had the balance about right.

PASTA POWER wrote:SD:CoM(DS) looks as if it will be like Sword of Mana which was probably like SD3 and to a lesser extent Secret of Mana. There has been too much rehash in this series therefore we need to see something new. SD4(PS2) is just that since the SD series has never taken the leap into 3D and I want to see what happens in their 1st attempt at making the transition to big boy graphics although some might see this as rehash for being yet another 3D action rpg.

And here it is, SD4....

It's 3D so I'm a bit unsure about it like. Like sleeping with a ginger girl for the first time.

graphics are nothing without gameplay. most of these next gen games get boring quickly. (Doom 3, Half Life 2)

HL2 was good. Well....yeah I admit I never played it again once I completed it. It held my attention until I'd done that though.

I tried to play HL2 the other day. It just seems like a giant tech demo for the physics engine. I found HL2 a bit dull because all you do is travel like some kind of crazy gypsy in a hazmat suit.
