Over the last couple of weeks the mame wip has been updated with some pretty good looking games. If you haven't checked it out yet you should head over there.

The uber-rare Midway Judge Dread prototype and that old B+W Drag Racing game is what i'm after out of the most recent rounds of WIP.

Fingers crossed for Outfoxies, I should think that'll make it in soon since Stroff got round to sorting the Nx-x drivers.

I might re-compile to see how Primal Rage and T-Mek are coming along, if just to see what what sort of rate they are clocking on my PC.

Good to see that an english version of Space Invaders '95 got dumped as well.

Are they working on the hardware that runs SF Rush and the cruisin series?

Blimey, sombody who actually likes Crusin?

Its meant to be a similar sort of thing to a ramped-up Wolf Unit with a HD bolted on, but I doubt its on anyones priority list.

As for the San Fransico Rush series, not a chance in hell. They all runs on the late Midway-Atari 3DFX-based boards 'ala Gauntlet Legends and MACE.

Ha! What good things?

And what is wrong with those games? SF Rush used to be a lot of fun to play for shots on N64... not that I ever did anything like that

The Crusin' games are shat, they play like arse and I didnt think they was particularly impressive. As far as 1994 driving games go, RRR and Daytona own CUSA.

I dont think the SFR games are particularly bad. Thier fairly entertaining, but not overly brilliant.

I don't think the Cruisin' series is that great either, but it's at least as good as Daytona! I have Daytona for DC, and played it in the arcade when it was all the rage, and it's not that great.

The graphics in Daytona were good, the music sucked, the physics sucked and it cost TOO DAMN MUCH to play at the arcade when it was around. 1$ a play?? (not that that has anything to do with the quality of the game, but I feel I have to include that as one of my gripes)

Wait a second, I don't even remember what the music was like in Cruisin' USA.... It probably sucked too.

Did I mention the selection of cars sucks in Daytona? I liked Cruisn's selection because you could drive some off the wall stuff... A bus with a chopped top, a jeep, a police car

Come on adidas let's not talk about the physics in daytona when comparing crusin. The music did suck though;

Daaaytooonnaaa, daaaytooonnaaa

Over and over again, barf>p

Daytona......

I've played that a few times since I've been over here and to be honest I dont see the attraction. Maybe if you had a few mates in a link up game it might be a bit entertaining but otherwise its a bit dull IMO.

My favourite all time racer has to be Virtua Racer.

Oh yeah, has anybody seen that Thrill Drive game in the arcades at all? Its all over the place over here but I cant understand why its so popular. It slows down like a bastard even when theres hardly any other cars on the road. You'd think in this day and age, arcade games would have gotten past that stage. Plllllease!

I'm not saying that Cruisn' has more accurate physics at all, but at least you can keep your car on the road most of the time

Daytona's a little too touchy
