Tekken 2 is now playable. I still don't believe that those games are so ugly.

it kinda occurred to me today as i was playing SFEX(J), and Battle Arena Toshinden... that yes, IMO these games look like utter shit. I'm sure theres some tweaking that can be done to make them look better, but i sure as hell dont remember seeing them looking this bad in the arcade. I dunno.. i dunno..

EDIT! also it appears as if he took down the site.. wonder what happened.

I don't think any effect you do to the game will make it look any better. I think the problem is that we are used to way more polygons for characters now a days.

Definitly a case of the retro-goggles (not that Tekken and SFEX are actually that Retro), Ive played a Tekken machine relativly recently and thats what the fighters looked like.

Atari's Return of the Jedi is still my worst case of that, I could swear blind that it used to look better then that...

I actually saw Rival Schools a little while back in an arcade and it looked better in impact due to higher res of the pc monitor.

No chance, Zinc only does PS-based boards.

The Sys2x series of boards have bugger all to do with both Playstations and each other.

Nobody knows what the rendering DSPs are either, much like Model 1 and most versions of Model 2.
