Name that game!!

Ok a friend at work remembers playing a game a long time ago.

It would have been an early 80s vector graphics game in which you controlled a space ship that was attached to another one by a line. He said you could play it 2 players too and these star things floated about that you could shoot I think.

Does that ring any bells for anybody?

I'll try and get more info if I can. I think its quite an obscure one.
