You answered your own question, the ROMs and CHD are different.

Get the updated set and use CHDMAN to check and fix your image, not that Carnevil is actually worth the effort.

ur trying to play that game??uhhhh..you need a kick-ass processor/ram to run "ok"

like all new mame releases, you need to compile them..there was prob new romsets, and you need a compiler to make it work properly. It all in the mame homepage

i never tried it myself, since right now i dont have the room on my hd since newer romsets have HUGE files..

As long as you can change directorys and read instructions, you'll have no problem. CHDMAN gives a list of its command switches and thier usage when you run it without any paramaters, update is the one your looking for.

to fix your chd files use the follwing command in a dos box :
chdman -update oldchd.chd newchd.chd

e.g.
rename area51.chd to area51.old.chd and then you would run
chdman -update area51.old.chd area51.chd

once the update is finished you could delete area51.old.chd

btw - it takes ages to do the lot.
Cheers,

Release.

Emuchina made a mistake by doing english sites, having to guess which chinese-labed buttons or links you had to click to find what you wanted probably put off quite a few of the kiddies and some of the more lazy bastards.

Crackdown isn't much use unless your a completist, it has the same 6800 encyption which stops all the other mid-late 80s SEGA games that have already had the rest of thier hardware emulated.
