Mame 0.76 roms

Postby release on Thu Oct 30, 2003 11:51 pm

Lads...

I'll upload the mame 0.76 roms to ivwshane's ftp soon.

I thought I should mention that I use mamediff to determine what roms are required. I use the -S -T options when generating my version change sets.

-S means I use split sets.
-T means it should produce a tiny dat (only list roms that have changed).

I do this to save space.

You need to use clrmamepro to rebuild your sets, with each set of roms for a particular version in seperate folders -> rebuilt back to a single folder.

I guess the point of all this is... DONT just copy the roms from v 0.75 over those in v0.74 as this won't provide you with a correct set. You MUST rebuild them.

I hope that's clear, if not, err, I can try and explain it again ? :?
Cheers,

Release.

were... I didn't contribute to ivwsahne's mame updates like this until 0.74
(I think). So I cannot speak for versions prior to that.

Main reason I pointed this out at all was because of the DVD idea...

but now that I think about it... I should've said so from the outset.

btw 0.76 romsets will be up a couple of minutes. :)
Cheers,

Release.

Anytime I did a complete update using clrmame pro I would put it in a folder with name of the mame set it represents. If it's in a folder with only a few roms then it's only for that particular release and hasn't been properly updated. If you have all the folders then you should be able to do a complete rebuild and end up with a complete set.
