I tried using MAME .67 but it didn't run right for some reason: Double Dragon and similar old games ran like shit!

I went back a few versions and it runs fine... I wonder if the problem is fixed in .68?

I have found that with 67 I cant get my blimmin mouse to work with any light gun games.

Its a right pain in the arse I can tell you!

I really wanted to play some light gun games at full speed.

aaron giles is cruel *joke* , he's finally added the area51 / maxforce duo - which for those of you out there who like to maintain a complete mame romset have ~ 1.6 Gb to download for a 2 games you've already got (and probably never played) !

oh well, tis the price we pay

bangbead has been playable in nebula for some time now...
Cheers,

Release.

btw - if you use clrmamepro to audit your mame roms then you'll need the latest version (2.90) to check mame 0.68 :)
Cheers,

Release.

Release, I'm not clear by what you mean by you have to download area51 again.

I have all the chd images from .67 so will I need to get the .68 versions?

If mame.dk has .68 I'll be putting it up on my ftp come sunday for those that want to do a mass download.

there is a another chd file for the area51/maximum force combo which should wiegh in at ~ 1.6 Gb.

it cannot (as far as I know) use the existing chd files for this combo version of the games.
Cheers,

Release.

Quick someone download the area 51 image with bittorrent, retrogames has a link for it. I would but I'm at home.

I got it and it was actually pretty quick, it took about 7 hours.

I also picked up all the new roms using those bit torrent links.

However after a mame audit I've got a ton of bad roms:(

Since mame.dk is being hammered it will probably be a while before I have a perfect set again.

Yeah I always wait a good while before bothering with mame.dk

Let the hoards do their leeching first.

The pics still arnt working for me too. Maybe they turned them off to save on bandwidth or something??

you can get the roms off irc pretty much at release time, but I wait for about 2 days before starting to avoid the leeching.

does anyone here get the roms of alt.emulators.binaries.misc ?

I've never got my head around downloading roms off newsgroups.
Cheers,

Release.

Nah neither did I.

Damian tried to show me it once using Outlook but I'll be darned if I can figure it out.

Just seemed to be e-mails talking about films and stuff.

I tried IRC and while it did work it was just too slow for me.

I think there is a bug in this release anyway, some roms show up as having an incorrect length but play just fine.

If the ROMs were originally overdumped then they are obviously still going to work since all the data is there, just with a load of extra crap on the end. Still, if your using MAME32's internal audit function you might as well ask a drunken chimp how solid your sets are.

I've got some stuff of newsgroups in the past, but I dont do it much anymore since BT's news server is shite.

Yeah the mame internal audit is crappy.

I only ever use it just to show the available roms. It gives you fuck all info really.
