If you include the Alpha series, SFZ2A is the best.

If you don't include the Alpha series, Super Street Fighter 2X: Grandmaster edition is the best

Obviously the original is the best, I mean SF1. I love the way it plays, the way it takes three motions to pull off a fireball. Kicks 2's arse.

3 motions?
No,you just hold the d-pad/stick in the corner and gently move it.Part 1 has a more "hardcore" feel to it.You could have easily got your head kicked in for even playing it in the arcade in my old area .

I rate SF2T (NOT SUper Turbo) the most balanced SF game, the Zero/Alpha series were a bit OTT for play balance.

Damian quick!! Tellytubbies is on!!

I kinda dropped out of the SF2 series at about SSF2. I had SF2T for my SNES and used to complete it with every character on the hardest setting without losing a round and all that crap and I found the balance of play slightly different when I tried SSF2. I never really had the interest to get good at it all over again in the arcade. I used to play Virtua Racer and air hockey with my mates instead.

I personally like SF1, brings back memories of propping up cabniets in proper arcades - big dark noisy rooms, long lines of uprights with small walkways between them, miserable middle-aged arcade operators behind the change counters etc...

SSF2T for game balance
SFZ3U for character range (plenty but not mega-overkill 'ala MvsC2)
SF2-HF because its my personal favorite

Yeah, the ever present fear getting knifed if you beat the local SF champ with two consecutive fireballs.

No,i wouldnt know what sarcasm means Damian.
Could you explain it too me?

"Ohh Marge!Im making people happy!Im the magical man from happy land, spreading love all over gumdrop lane".

Dont sue if i messed up the quote :P

Yes, it is a joke how could I be prefer it to SF2 when the controls are so fiddly? Something called sarcasm there.
