Your favourite arcade games!

Postby Silverhaze on Fri Apr 25, 2003 2:34 pm

OK I thought I would get a poll of what people enjoy to play most since we havent had one of these in a while and weve recently got a few new members.

Please say if you think anything needs to be added to the list of genres because I was just getting them off the top of my head so I may not have thought of everything.

Please vote for your favs and then make a little post letting us know what you play the most. If at all.

For me its the following games. (Shame you cant make multiple votes)

MOSTLY:
Bubble Bobble series
MvsC
Punisher
Darius Gaiden
SF2 series
Sexy Parodius

OCCASIONALLY:
Esp Ra De
Forgotten Worlds
Variety of platformers
Miss World 96 nude (cos its a laugh and pisses the missus off)

Im sure there are more but others will come to me in time. Please feel free to mention those games you hate too. Its always good to test out some real duds!!

On a side note, I would just like to show just how shit this connection at work really is. The page has to reload everytime you add a new option to the poll. I started this post at 14:05. Its now 14:33. Now THATS slow :D

seems I was the first one to vote so currently Fighters - 2 player has 100% of the votes

I have always been a Street Fighter addict. I have lots of the console versions for PS and Dreamcast - as well as all the emulated ones.

I'll always remember the first time I played a hacked version of SF II in the arcades - I played as Chun Li and you could pull off the upside down spinning kick of hers mid jump.

Here's my Favourites in mame :

act-fancer
Art of Fighting 3
Amored Warriors
badlands
breakers
Crime Fighters
darius 2 (dual screen)
final fight
garou - mark of the wolves
ghouls & ghosts
kof 98
last resort
metal slug
magic sword
punisher
raiden
rtype leo
samurai showdown 2
street fighter 2 hyper fighter
slap fight
super street fighter 2
toki
un squadron
viewpoint
Cheers,

Release.

I picked platformer because that was the closest option to what I usually end up playing:

Pac-Man
Ms. Pac-Man
Dig Dug
Galaga

Other than that I don't play arcade games too much; usually I stick to console. I have been known to go through stints where you can't tear me away from SFA2 (or similar)...but that is a rare occurence.

It looks like fighters are taking the lead!

If everyone is so into fighting games then maybe we should setup some kaillera time and get some online fighting going.
