Hi score competion

Postby Jewboy on Wed Jul 25, 2001 8:26 pm

I decided to see who has the best scores at different games (your pick aslong as you can't continue). No bullshit made up scores, i want proof as well.

I've managed to rack up exaclty 37,000 on burger time (data east set2) 4th level.

Also while i'm at it, on asteriods deluxe (rev 1) = 23,880

I've got the pics just need somewhere to upload them to , ( Damian how about it )

May as well forget about this idea as silverhaze already faked my pic with his name

updated pics below

I'm sure the people who would compete against you would be honest enough not to use fake pictures. Besides, their screenshots might be of different screens, not just the high score table.

Just e-mail me your picture(s) and I will upload it/them.

Its the older games that have black backgrounds that are the easy ones to fake with a touch of copy and paste but anything that has a background will be much harder.

Maybe, as Damian suggested, people can send in screens that are harder to fake like the in game screens.

Can people be honest with this? Thats the question. I only faked JB's score to show how easily it could be done.

I'll participate! I thought about suggesting this idea a while ago... but never did.

Don't worry about me, I'll be 100% honest, I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm horrible at some of these games

Where will these pics be posted? On the board? In that case I could post them myself....

I gave up at Asteroids Deluxe, that game is hard. I tried my hand at some Galaga (Namco) instead.

ahh hell, while I'm at it, let's try the good ol' Mario Bros (US).

Why hello Brad, hope the white colour doesn't blind you!

How does SniperArcade stop one from cheating?

P.S

I really should post a screen of a highscore here but I can't think of any games with scores that I am any good at. Hmmm.

LOL I know how you feel. I'm pretty shit at Asteroids Deluxe too. THink I got killed on the second screen last time I played.

Maybe Wonderboy 3, I was pretty kick ass at that the last time I played it. Hmm.

Maybe I'll post my hi-score on Pro-Pinball Fantastic Journey table. Nothing to do with mame but its the highest damn score I've ever got on anything! LOL

We need to decide on only a few games for the competition. I suggest anything before 1986 that isn't pacman (i hate pacman)

Ahh welcomed by my old pal the popup!

Right, I'll make a poll but first we need some suggestions.

So far it looks like Galaga Mario Bros. and Asteroids Deluxe are in the comp.

Any newer requests??

Snipercade and Twin Galaxies use game recordings to verify that no cheating has been done. Doctored scrennshots are too easy to submit. Its also known that recordings can be hacked, so for official competitions there is a modified Mame version that has pause disabled and encryted recordings.

Put it this way, if your score is good enough, you get published in the official high score book.
