Missing rom finder?

Postby Silverhaze on Mon Jan 27, 2003 8:31 pm

Is there anything that will work with the latest version of mame32 that will find out which roms are missing from my collection?

A ROM verifier/manager is an absolute must, MAME32's internal audit feature is pathetically inadequte for any proper user.

ROM center (http://www.romcenter.com) is my poison, piss easy to use and has a nice interface that shows you everything you need to know with hardley any hassle.

It'll generate a data file from any MAME executable, althougth they sometimes need a bit of manual adjustment. Havent tried 0.64 yet, but the generator kept listing the SKNS bios files as being part of the individual game sets in 0.62 and 063.

OK I'll give that a go.

All I need it to do is say the name of the missing zips. It should do a direct comparison with the official mame list text file but far be it from me to ask such things :D
