And use Nebula! NRX sucks!

don't listen to these new age tree huggers! NeoRageX is a damn spiffy emulator

kids these days...don't respect their elders...

besides, emulating the same game with the same graphic upgrades is pretty much all the new emulators can do, so why the big push for them?

Nothing quite like reviving a dead topic.
<rant>
Back when i was a newb so was everyone else because emulation was still in its infancy. All we had were Gamboy emulators and early attemps at NES emulators. It was a good year before snes9x came out and was running TMNT4. We had no one to look up to and ask for help or for roms. We had to do it all on our own and help eachother along the way.
</rant>

Any luck figuring out MIRC yet?

Damn mIRC still confuses me as Damian will probably agree.

As for emulation, I got into it when my girlfriend used to live in the halls of residence at uni. I'd go down at weekends and they had free broadband internet access via an ethernet card that connected them to the main uni server.

One day I came across this place called emux while looking for any information about old computer and arcade games I used to play. In particular Prehistoric Isle. Imagine my surprise when I was playing the game by that afternoon on her dodgy old P166 and a very old version of mame.
Callace took me a while to work out properly but I prefered that at the time cos it used less juice and would play SF2 and Final Fight and stuff.

I never joined the message boards until I came across a problem and I started life as Hill. I made the mistake of including my work e-mail address and having it open to viewing. I got into a fight and this guy called Cassius Clay (some might remember Mack Daddy Welcomes You) and he actually phoned up my work and got details on me the little fucker. He never took it any further and I changed to Silverhaze and changed my e-mail details. Came back and flamed the shit out of him, as did most people LOL

I wonder where the mack daddy is now.

Ahhh, the good old days when most new people actually read the documentation, found thier own ROMs and actually used thier brains to work out simple tasks and concepts.

They dont make idiot questions like they used to either. Thesedays its all people with shit computers wanting to play power monsters in MAME, warez kiddies wanting to play brand new NG games on NRX and twats begging for ROMs because they are too fucking lazy to look for them themselves. Back then you'd get "Where can I get X-Men ROMs with sound", "Where can I get a Pitfighter ROM that isnt slapstick" and "Which emulator do I use with the AvsP ROM set I just downloaded" on a garunteed weekly basis.
