I don't know about some of you but I certainatly will miss emuviews. And I'm pretty sure he is serious this time.

Looks like Jose Q has finally called it quits

I was expecting this, but not quite so soon. To tell the absolute truth I have never been that great a fan of the site anyway, and that is why I am not all that sad to see it (sort of leave).

You see that one site is not all that JoseQ contributes to the emulation community.

His largest (and most important) is the hosting of MAME Dev's massive (and I mean massive) archive of arcade ROMS.

His second is the hosting of many, many emulation sites (he has a special deal for them) and of course his free hosting of some other emu sites.

I knew it was going to end soon when he said this to me:

<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">quote:</font><HR>Thanks for the ideas, but I think I just want not to have to think about it
anymore when I retire. =)

JoseQ
<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

He just won't let anyone else help with the work, and if he hasn't the time....

I just knew then (21/06) that the site was going soon, but I thought it would be nearer Christmas.

Don't get me wrong, I like his site..but after his first announcement I kind of heard the echo of the wood knock-on.

-edit-

Ok, I feel that I should exonerate slightly.
Emuviews has been on a declination for awhile now, although it has been slight it is comparable to a newborn's depth perception. Gradually the subject is given increments in depth to test except in our case it has been the opposite.

CUT ROMS
CUT OLD COMMENTRY
CUT REGULAR UPDATES

It was a gradual inclination, but come on people it was expected.

...and all the roms to Sparcade (easily runs most at full speed on even 386 notebooks).

Probably the most diverse selection.

Its a shame to see emuviews go, it was a quality site with good content and it will be missed by the general emu community.

You cant blame the guy for cutiing ROMs, he did get gyp off the IDSA and he didnt want to pull any more attention.
