Strider 2

Postby Silverhaze on Wed Sep 04, 2002 3:51 pm

I thought I'd make a fresh post about this incase it doesnt get noticed in the other thread.

I played a Strider game in the arcade. It was in 3D and played a bit like Pandemonium 1&2 on the PS1 in a way.

It was pretty easy and I ended up getting bored and trying to die cos I wanted to play something else but thats irrelevant for now.

Anybody know what hardware this runs on? It looked suspiciously like the PS1 equivalent hardware that the old Tekken games used to run on. Anyway, I was wondering if its even been dumped yet.

It was made of course by Capcom and would have been more fun had I not had a time constraint and want to play other games in the place.

....Enter stage right, The Yak.... :D

Its on the Capcom varient of ZN-2, which is basically a Playstation on an arcade board that Sony sells off-the-shelf to other companys who then modify it for thier own use. In this case, Capcom replaced the stock sound hardware with the Q-Sound system they used on all thier other 90's boards.

As Class said, you can play it on Zinc allong with a load of other ZN varient games and some Namco System 12 stuff.
