It looks like it's official...mame is now doing 3D!

Some of you might of already known this but as far as I know it was only speculation.


On a side note what are you supposed to play the latest system22 roms with or are they even playable?

MAME has done 3D for a very long time. No they are not playable in the slightest.

I don't consider the vector games 3D or games like hard driven 3D. Yes they are 3D but they aren't "new" 3D:P

Well you can now add Sys 21 to the 3d list, good thing i've already got most of mame testbeta roms :lol: only about 7 short.

are they doing it HLE style or accurately from the hardware?

I'm not sure, everything I've seen on it has been in another language.

Did you guys see the new starblade shots, the emulation on that must be pretty easy.

Not even remotley, first generation 3D systems like sys21 make thier sucessors look like complete pussys as far as complication and sheer amount of componets is concerned. Not to mention that the board in question probably has more graphics chips then any other system in the history of mankind.

The sys21 driver have been WIP for the best part of 6 months, not to mention it would of taken allot longer if they didnt already have the basis on the system in place with the sys2 driver (which is a bitch all of its own that still isnt fully emued).
